Notification settings
The TranslatorApp can send email notifications when translation runs complete or fail. This is especially useful if you use scheduled translations, so you don't need to check the dashboard manually.
How to access
In the sidebar, select Settings, then click Notifications.
Notification preference
The notification preference controls when emails are sent. You can choose from three options:
- Never — No emails are sent. This is the default.
- Only on errors — Emails are sent when a translation run finishes with errors or fails entirely. Successful runs do not trigger a notification.
- Always — Emails are sent after every translation run, regardless of outcome.
Note: If you select "Always" and have multiple tasks running on a schedule, this can generate a high volume of emails. Consider using "Only on errors" if you only want to be alerted about problems.
Recipient email addresses
You can configure up to 3 email addresses that will receive notifications. These addresses are independent of the user accounts on your instance — you can add any email address, such as a shared team inbox or monitoring address.
To add a recipient, click Add email address and enter a valid email. To remove one, click the remove button next to the address.
Important: No emails will be sent if the recipient list is empty, even if a notification preference is set.
What's included in the notification email
Every notification email includes a summary of the translation run:
- Task name — Which translation task was executed
- Status — Whether the run completed successfully, completed with errors, or failed
- Start and finish time — When the run started and ended
- Duration — How long the run took
- Records processed — How many records were processed out of the total
- Error details — If the run had errors, the first error messages are listed
- Link to run details — A direct link to the run detail page on your dashboard
Common questions
Q: I set a notification preference but I'm not receiving emails? A: Make sure you have added at least one recipient email address. No emails are sent if the recipient list is empty.
Q: Can I set different notification preferences for different tasks? A: Not currently. The notification preference applies to all tasks on your instance.
Q: Who receives the notifications? A: Only the email addresses configured in the notification settings. These are separate from the user accounts registered on your instance.
